The Emptiness of Vanity's Fiend
Card text : Neither player can Special Summon monsters. Destroy this card when a card is sent from the Deck or the field to your Graveyard.
In this card artwork we can see Vanity's Fiend, and his effect does not allow any attempt of special summon while he is face up on the field.
Vanity's Emptiness is a Royal-Oppression-like card which can give the same kind of advantages.
They are a couple of things to know about Vanity's Emptiness, things as fallows :
Vanity's Emptiness will not go to the graveyard when a Xyz Materiel is send to the graveyard, because the Xyz Materiel isn't on the field.
The effect of Vanity's Emptiness that state that it will go to grave when a card from your field or deck isn't a continuous effect, it's a trigger effect, that means it will activate in a chain.
In some cases, Vanity's Emptiness will only be used like a Solemn Warning, but it is still 2000 Life Points cheaper. For example you can chain Vanity's Emptiness to Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, Tour Guide from the Underworld. You can activate it for preventing your opponent from summoning Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness. You can chain it to Mind control, like this you are sure to regain control of your monster at the end phase, because your opponent won't be able to synchro summon or xyz summon.
I will tell you in what ways Vanity's Emptiness can be good against some decks :
Against Rabbit : You can chain Vanity's Emptiness to the effect of Tour Guide and Rescue Rabbit or activate it in response of an attack from Jurrac Guaiba to prevent your opponents from summoning another one from his deck. You can chain it to Starlight Road for not having to deal with Stardust Dragon.
Against Wind-Up : You can chain it to the effect of Wind-Up Rat, Wind-Up Magician, Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity or Wind-Up Shark (who will stay in hand).
Against Inzektor : You can chain it to the effect of Inzektor Dragonfly or the special summon effect of Inzektor Giga-Manti. You can chain it to Call of the Haunted or Tour Guide too.
Those are the top tier decks as we speak, but with the new ban list incoming, some of us won't play one of those three decks and will try something else, so let's see against what other decks Vanity'Emptiness can be good.
I will write VE for Vanity's Emptiness from now on, it's shorter ^^
Against Karakuri : you can activate VE when your opponent have two monsters on his field, after he special summoned Cyber Dragon and a Tuner monster, or after he summoned Karakuri Komachi mdl 224 "Ninishi" and another Karakuri monster, to prevent your opponent from summoning Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei" or Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X "Bureido".
Against Gladiator Beast : You can chain VE to the effect of a Gladiator Beast, so that the Gladiator Beast who just attacked goes back to the deck (because it's a cost), and no one will be special summoned. You can activate it when you opponent summons a second Gladiator Beast, to prevent him from summong Gladiator Beast Essedarii or Gladiator Beast Gyzarus.
Against Lightsworn : You can chain VE to the effect of Lumina, Lighsworn Summoner, producing card advantage. You can chain it to the effect of Plaguespreader Zombie, still producing card advantage. You can chain it to the efffect of Wulf, Lighsworn Beast. You can activate it to stop your opponent from summoning Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning or Judgment Dragon.
Against Six Samurai : You can chain VE to the effect of Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki, to Asceticism of the Six Samurai, to Shien's Dojo and to Double-Edged Sword Technique. When you opponent summons a small Six Samurai monster, you can activate VE, like this he won't be able to summon Grandmaster of the Six or Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan from his hand.
Against Darkworld : You can chain VE to Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World, Sillva, Warlord of Dark World and Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World's effect. And you can activate VE when your opponent normal summon a Dark World monster while he has a Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World in his graveyard, to avoid dealing with a 2700/3000 ATK monster.
Against X-Sabers : VE can prevent the summons of XX-Saber Faultroll, negate the effect of XX-Saber Boggart Knight and Gottoms' Emergency Call, prevent the effect of XX-Saber Emmersblade and XX-Saber Fulhelmknight, and prevent the summon of X-Saber synchro monsters.
Against Hieroglyph : Well, I don't really know, I didn't take the time to see this archetype yet ^^
In most situation, VE will be a substitute for Solemn Warning, but will stay on the field and will guarantee you your opponent won't try other special summons.
Right now, you may be skeptical about this card, but if you give it a try, it won't let you down. ^^
Oh, and by the way, this is what Vanity's Emptiness looks in OCG :
