After Exodia, Final Countdown and Destiny Board, the new instant win card.

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game everybody knows they is 3 way to win a duel, reducing your oponent's Life Point to 0, make your opponent unable to Draw, and by card effect.
Until now they was 6 card effect that allowed a player to win instantaneously.

SimplyUnlucky's Videos

Did you ever seen some of the Youtube videos of "SimplyUnlucky"? Well SimplyUnlucky is a Yu-Gi-Oh! player like all of us, who buy 1 box of every Yu-Gi-Oh! products when it's first release, and he bought those products since the begining of Yu-Gi-Oh!. So he got 1 factory-sealed display of every TCG Set and 1 of each Tin Box.
He decided to open his displays and tins,  and he made one video for every display and tin he opened since Febrary 2011.

5 Xyz Monsters we should look forwards to get in TCG

The cards I talk about are from the Japanese Duel Terminal 12 and 13, so they won't came out in TCG before Hidden Arsenal 6 or 7

Statistics on Tour Guide of the Underworld from YCS Kansas City

Some Statistics from the YCS Kansas City about Tour Guide From The Underworld.

Did you know?
At YCS Kansas City, there were more than 600 players.
From the 32 players of the Top 32, if they all played 3 copies of Tour Guide From The Underworld, they would have been 96 Tour Guide in the top.
On the 32 players, 4 players ran 0 Tour Guide, 1 player ran 1 Tour Guide, and 27 players ran 3 copies of Tour Guide, so from the potencial 96 Tour Guide there were 82/96 Tour Guide.
Now let's pretend the player who had only 1 Tour Guide didn't have any.
27/32 of the top players played 3 Tour Guide, that's 84.375% of the players of the Top 32.
So statistically, if you play with 3 Tour Guide, you have 84% of chance to make it to the Top 32.

For someone who don't know how many Tour Guide worth, he could think that Tour Guide is as useful, cheap and powerful as Monster Reborn. But we all know that's not the case, everyone knows Monster Reborn is more powerful than Tour Guide, right? ;)

It is(/was) obvious now that, if you don't play Tour Guide, you won't get into the top. For the next YCS, you now know that if you don't play 3 Tour Guide, you have 15% chance to make to the Top 32.
But I'm not saying, if you have no Tour Guide, don't play at YCS, just saying that probabilities are not in your favor.
Let's hope Konami is aware of this and reprint Tour Guide as quick as possible.

Karakuri is not so bad after all

I have played Karakuri for awhile and after that I played Karakuri Machina Plants thinking it was better, and then I played Six Samurai ^^ (It was after Storm of Ragnarok was release). After Komachi 224 Ninishi was release in Extreme Victory I kept on playing Karakuri Machina Plant but not for tournaments. I was thinking "as long as nobody proves to me that Karakuri can make a apparition in a Top 16 of something, I won't play it for tournaments." So now is the time, Karakuri just lost in the Top 4 of the last YCS (YCS Kansas City) and one other lost in the Top 16.

The Photon Shockwave censorship

As in every set, when the set goes from OCG to TCG, some of the cards in it are censored, which means some cards have a halo missing, a gun turned into a toy, or completely redrawn.
In Photon Shockwave there is 4 cards censored :

I am selected to be a Judge for the YCS Brighton.

I applied because I don't have enough money to pay all the travel, the hotel and everything so now I just have to pay the travel and be a part of the YCS ^^
But one day, I will play at a YCS.
And maybe if I'm qualified to the European championship 2012 I will play and not judge.

A quick review of the extra 20 cards of Photon Shockwave that we know so far

PHSW-EN081 Photon Sabre Tiger

Pretty cool dude. He is light (for Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster and Honest) he is a Beast (Horn, Hamster) he can search for other ones like him. He can fit in a T.G. Skill Drain because there is Horn and Skill Drain (negating it's searching effect and his ATK decrease effect). So a card we will need in 3 copies.

Why Konami don't reprint Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress ?

This question may look stupid but I realy wonder why Lyla still didn't get reprinted. All the other Lighsworn monsters (except Jenis, Shire, Rinyan and Gragonith who are useless) have been reprinted :

OTK Light Pulsar, no more!

Apparently Konami rewrite the effect of Light Pulsar Dragon and changes a single word. The "If" is now a "When". And that means, Light Pulsar's effect miss the timing when he is tributed for a summon or card effect like Cannon Soldier. So for conclusion, the OTK/FTK Light Pulsar is Dead before coming out.

Tournament Report - the 21th of October

Today I have been at "Le Repaire Du Dragon" and I was playing a Tengu T.G. Agent Deck with in my Side Deck cards for turning the deck into a T.G. Drain Deck. They were 16 participants.

1st Round VS Michel Zendn (Deck Lighsworn Flamvell) 
1st Game : I summoned a Venus who got Traped, not bottomless traped, just traped. A turn later, re-Venus then Gachi Gachi He fliped his two Ryko and targeted my Gachi Gachi with them, I was kind of suspicious of what he got in hand to do that. After a few turn I win infliging some dommage with Warwolf Tengu and Honest and his Warning.
2nd Game : Didn't Side, stayed with T.G.Tengu Agent. first turn I summon Earth, He summoned Lyla, attacked, I used honest, the two next turn I attack directly with Earth. after that he warning my Venus. He find a way to summon Trishula, I got a lot of cards but nothing to get rid of Trishula, he thought that he couldn't win a he conceded instead of waiting a few turn to see if we get good cards, because he definetly had a few turn ahead of him.

Lightpulsar + Red-Eyes + Cannon Soldier = OTK

Edit : this article was made before the world knew Lightpulsar would miss the timing of its effect, so if you are interesting in what would have happened if not, you can read what follows. ^^

 I don't know if you realized it yet but, when the Structure Deck Dragonic Legion will be realesed, a lot of OTK deck will come out.
It's not as extreme as it sounds, maybe not a lot of people will play this OTK because it will not be a stable deck, or maybe Konami will ban some cards like Cannon Soldier in order to prevent OTK decks from ruling the format.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Advent Calendar

For those of you who didn't heard about this yet, you may will be a little bit surprised.

If you have trouble waiting the 24th of december Chrismas arrival, this product is the answer. I'am kidding, this is just a other reason for Yu-Gi-Oh! players to spend money on reprint cards.

The probleme is that the Advent Calendar is available only in Germany and Austria, and in German language.

So for the ones who don't like neither German cards nor Rare Formula Synchron, you are in a dead end.

The only way to buy it for non-german people is using Ebay (which I personely did).

In this "set" there is 24 cards and a Extreme Victory Booster Pack (Yes, another chance to pull Tour Guide!)

Welcome

Hello Everyone
I just started this blog today for several reasons. I wanted to do a Blog for a long time but never find the point of doing one.
I want to keep track of my progression as a Yu-Gi-Oh! Player and as a Judge.
And I want to share with the world my Yu-Gi-Oh! philosophy.
I will in the future write reports of tournaments I judged or where I played, some news, some opinion regarding rulings, new card, new set, that kind of stuff.
So, I hope you will enjoy reading me.
